LEXINGTON, KY. – The Berea women's soccer team struggled to find their offense during their Monday night contest at Transylvania University. The Mountaineers fell 2-0 to the Pioneers after two first half goals from Quinn May and Ashley Chindo. Berea goalie Amber Follin finished with four saves in the loss.

The first half of the game proved to be a slow start for the Mountaineers, with only getting off two shots during the 45 minute span. Transylvania's first goal was a quick one, just 4:59 into the game. The Pioneers added some cushion, at the 19:25 minute mark, to bring the score to 2-0. Transylvania continued to push on the offensive end with another five shots, but Follin and the Mountaineer defense stayed tough to hold them to two goals and headed into halftime.

Berea's offense picked up in the second half, out shooting the Pioneers 7-6. The Mountaineers challenged Transylvania goalie Ally Barfield multiple times, but Berea couldn't find the back of the net and the Pioneers sealed the 2-0 win.

Transylvania held the slight advantage in shots, 15-9 and had a 7-0 control in corner kicks.

Up next, the Mountaineers travel to Brevard College to take on the Tornadoes on Saturday, September 22nd at 2:00 p.m.
