Maryville, TN- Berea women's soccer team traveled down to Maryville, TN, to take on the Maryville Scots in a conference matchup.  The Mountaineers kept a close game against The Scots until they pulled away late. The Scots scored two goals in the final 10 minutes put away the Mountaineers to get their first conference win.

Berea's women's soccer team had a slow start to the game as Maryville's Abbie Anderson scored in the 8th minute for the Scots to take a 1-0 lead. Berea could not stay out of foul trouble in the first half as they had 9 fouls called on them. This killed the Mountaineers ability to gain any momentum.  The offense took over for both teams as the Scots added a goal by Kelsey Green in the 43rd minute, but not just under a minute later Berea's own Madilyn Hord connected right before half time to cut the deficit to one at halftime.

The second half had Berea on the heels for most of the second half. Maryville attempted 14 shots in the half with most of them on goal. Even with Maryville applying extreme pressure, Berea's defense managed to step-up to keep the score 2-1 for most of the half. However, the pressure finally made the defense crack, as Maryville added goals in the 80th and 86th minute of the game by Miranda Lukes and Kelsey Green.

The corner kicks were very lopsided as Maryville attempted 12 corner kicks to 0 and had 29 shots compared to 4 by Berea.
