Berea, KY- The Berea Women's Soccer Team hosted Lagrange College to take on the Panthers in their third conference matchup this season. The Mountaineers had a close game against their opponents, but they were able to come out on top during the second half. Berea scored three goals against the Panthers in the second half and were able to attain their first conference win of the season.

 

The Mountaineers had a rocky start in the first 10 minutes of the game. Lagrange's Sydney Dailey scored the first goal of the game from a penalty kick. However, Berea soon responded with Glendy Pineda scoring on a breakaway to tie it up 1-1, with an assist from Bailee Vanover. The ladies kept it close, relentlessly ripping shots on Lagrange's goalie. However, at 30:43, Sydney Dailey was able to score again for Lagrange off of a free kick and to help the Panthers take a 2-1 lead to the second half.

 

The Mountaineers responded in the second half. Madilyn Hord was the center of the offense for the whole second half and scored two goals for the Mountaineers. Sohara Perez also continued her scoring ways, as she netted another one this season to make the score 4-2. Throughout the rest of the half, the Mountaineers were able to keep the Panthers at bay and achieved their first conference win of the season.

 

The Mountaineers outshot Lagrange 20-4, but were down 4-2 in corner kicks to Lagrange.
