Berea, Ky.- The Berea women's soccer team hosted Warren Wilson College in a non-conference match Thursday night. Both the Mountaineers and the Owls struggled throughout most of the game to find any offense before a Berea penalty kick from Bailee Vanover helped to give Berea the 1-0 victory in the final minute of the contest.

The Mountaineers worked hard in the first half, taking a total of 11 shots in the first half. Despite their best efforts, Owls' goalie Susie Lusardi held them off. Berea's defense proved to be successful, as the Owls only took 2 shots in the first half, both of which were saved by Mountaineer goalie Jade Fulkerson.

The Mountaineers continued to battle in the second half, giving no opportunity for Warren Wilson to take any shots. Berea took a total of 14 shots in the second half, with Vanover finally making a penalty kick goal that led Berea to the win with only 1:09 left in the game.

Up next, the Berea Mountaineers will be travelling to Huntingdon College on Saturday, October 6 where they will take on the Hawks at 3:00 p.m.
