Montgomery, Ala. – The Mountaineers traveled to take on Huntingdon College Saturday afternoon. Berea was defeated on the road by the Hawks, 4-0. Mountaineer goalie Jade Fulkerson made five saves in the loss.

The game started off as a fast one as Huntingdon scored the first goal from Meredith Harrison with only 1:30 on the clock. The Hawks added their second goal at the 39:04 minute mark after an assist from Kayley Yates that Camryn Hale kicked past Fulkerson to make it 2-0. Huntingdon managed to rack up 10 shots in the first half, while the Mountaineers' offense struggled to get the ball out of their own zone. Fulkerson and the Berea defense held the Hawks to two goals as both teams headed into halftime.

Huntingdon wasted no time adding to their lead with a goal from Sam Curtis 33 seconds into the second half. Less than 10 minutes later, Curtis recorded her second goal of the contest to bring the score to 4-0. Berea's offense continued to fight, but it was not enough to get passed Hawks' goalie Kylie Kersh as Huntingdon held on for the win.

The Hawks outshot the Mountaineers 19-3 and had the 4-0 advantage in corner kicks.

Up next, Berea travels to Covenant Tuesday, October 9 for a 4:00 p.m. start.
