Lookout Mountain, GA- The Mountaineers traveled to Covenant College on Tuesday to battle the Scots. Berea was defeated by Covenant, 5-0. The Mountaineers' goalie, Jade Fulkerson, made ten saves in the loss.

The game was off to a quick start as Covenant scored their first goal at the 5:02 minute mark from Kailey Burrell and assisted by Lizzy Hightower. Burrell added her second goal of the contest, closely behind the first, at the 7:05 minute mark to give the Scots a two-goal lead. The Mountaineers remained on the defensive side of the field for the rest of the first half. Covenant had 13 shots to Berea's two and the half ended 2-0 in favor of the Scots.

Covenant did not allow Berea the opportunity to get their offense going, as they kept the ball in the Mountaineers' zone for a majority of the second half. The Scots soon added to their lead with a goal from Addy Cronan, at the 57:47 minute mark, with an assist from Burrell. Another Covenant goal at 59:39, was added from Kyra Duble with an assist from Addy Cronan. Nearing the end of the game the Scot's scored yet another goal from Megan Rasku with an assist from Paige Simons to take the 5-0 shutout win.

The Scots outshot the Mountaineers 23-7, and had a 9-1 advantage on corner kicks.

Up next, the Berea women's soccer team will host Spalding University on Thursday, October 11 at 7 p.m.
