Berea, KY. - The Berea women's soccer team hosted USA conference opponent Agnes Scott on Saturday for senior day. Berea took the 1-0 victory when Glendy Pineda scored the lone goal in the second half. Amber Follin finished with nine saves in 66 minutes, while Jade Fulkerson stopped three in her 23 minutes, to record her fifth win of her rookie campaign.

The Mountaineers worked hard in the first half, taking 13 shots to the Scotties' eight. Agnes Scott's goalie Abby Ackerson and Follin were kept quite busy with 15 total shots on goal, but the defenses kept the first half scoreless.

The Mountaineers continued to battle in the second half and finally prevailed when Pineda scored the one and only goal of the game for Berea at 61:42 minute mark, which was her fourth goal of the season. The Scotties kept their offensive pressure on Berea, but the defense refused to fold and the Mountaineers held on for the 1-0 victory and a secured playoff spot.

We want to congratulate Amber Follin, Sohara Perez, Rebecca Schmidt, and Glendy Pineda for their dedication to the Berea College Soccer Program. Over their time with the Mountaineers, they have been major assets to the program and we wish them well in their future endeavors.

Up next, the Berea Mountaineers will be traveling to Huntingdon College on Wednesday October 24 to play in the first round of the USA South tournament.
