Women's Track and Field Take 7th Place at Centre Invitational

The Women's Track and Field team traveled to Danville, KY to compete in the Centre Invitational, which consisted of 16 teams. Of the teams at the meet, four were NCAA Division II schools, six were NCAA Divison III schools and six were NAIA schools. The team finished in seventh place with 37 points behind sixth place Campbellsville University, who finished with 44.5 points.

Point winners for the Mountaineers were:

Ami Callow, 400 Meter Dash, 1:01.08, 2nd Place- 8 points

Gabrielle Sawyer, 800 Meter Run, 2:27.62, 5th Place- 4 points

Layne Callow, 800 Meter Run, 2:28.16, 6th Place- 3 points

Mercy Kershner, 5000 Meter Run, 18:52.82, 4th Place- 5 points

Ami Callow, Layne Callow, Megan Hale, Gabrielle Sawyer, 4x400 Meter Relay, 4:10.54, 3rd Place- 6 points

LeAnna Luney, Javelin Throw, 24.23m, 8th Place- 1 point

Kaitlynn Smith, Discus Throw, 33.81m 6th Place- 3 points

Amy Angevine, Pole Vault, 2.80, Tied for 2nd Place- 7 points

The Mountaineers will travel to Williamsburg, KY to compete in the University of the Cumberlands Invitation. Their trip will take place this Saturday, April 11th.
