Women's Track and Field Rack Up Sixteen Personal Bests at the Centre Invitational

DANVILLE, KY- This weekend The Berea college women's track team competed in their third outdoor meet at the 2017 Centre Invitational at Centre College. With a total of 16 scoring teams, this was one of the largest meets that Centre has ever hosted. The women saw 16 individual personal records (PR) this past weekend and finished 15th out of the scoring teams. Most of these performances are all-time PRs and will be noted with (*) to indicate so.

Ohio Northern won the meet scoring 168 points, second was Centre with 91 and rounding out the top 3 was Baldwin Wallace with 88 points.
Field events were led by freshman Allison Dallman who had a final jump of 1.42 meters in the high jump, putting her in 9th place overall.

Sophomore Jenna Hughes and senior Megan Hale came in nearly side-by-side in the women's 800 meter dash, both with a time of 2:27. Hughes (2:27.19)* was just 0.7 seconds ahead of Hale (2:27.97)*. The women's 1500 saw many of the Berea girls finishing together. Freshman Jamie Welch scored 5 points for the women by finishing 4th with a time of 5:02.63*. Following not far behind was sophomore Jenna Hughes (5:09.20)*, senior Gabriella Sabino (5:10.36), and sophomore Dove DeNigris (5:13.84)*. Coming in the top 15 of the women's 5K was freshman Ivanna Sabino with a time of 19:52.55*.

The women's 4x400 meter relay team placed 6th overall with a time of 4:18.73. The team was made up of Jenna Hughes (SO), Kaylee Robinson (FR), Rebecca Dixon (SO), and Megan Hale (SR).

The women will compete in their next competition Friday, April 7th and Saturday, April 8th at the University of the Cumberland's Invitational in Williamsburg, KY.
