Lexington, KY- The Berea College men and women's track team kicked off their season with an indoor meet hosted by the University of Kentucky. The teams traveled with only a few members from each team. The meet consisted of primarily NCAA D1 teams.
Leading off for the women was Allison Dallman in the High Jump. Dallman finished with an indoor best jump of 1.56, this jump was good enough to place her 15th in the field of 23. Kierra Moore competed in the long jump and finished with a leap of 4.77m.
On the track, Cassie McFadden and Katriah Malik were the first Mountaineers to compete running the 60m. McFadden opened up with an 8.53 and Malik ran a time of 8.55. Kaylee Robinson and Destinee Henry ran the 400m and in a very competitive field Robinson ran 1:04.4 and Henry ran 1:07.67. Robinson came back and ran the 200m not long after running a time of 27.19. Robinson was joined by teammate Ali Silas who ran a time of 31.21.
Delaney Williams, Abby Schlenker and Hayley Clark all competed in the mile. Williams lead the Mountaineers with a time of 5:31.07. Schlenker followed close behind running 5:39.58 and Clark finished with a 6:21.12.
