Volleyball Splits Tri-Match

Decatur, GA., - The Berea College Volleyball team won their first USA South Conference game in a tri-match against USA South Conference opponents Pfeiffer University and Agnes Scott College. They lost 3-0 against Pfeiffer University, but turned around to win the second match of the day 3-0 against Agnes Scott College.

Pfeiffer Rolls Past Berea

In the first match of the day for Berea, Pfeiffer University beat Berea in straight sets 25-14, 25-15 and 25-23. Pfeiffer University was dominant in the game, leading the Mountaineers in every statistical category including, kills (42-29), digs (40-29), and assists (40-29). For the Mountaineers, freshman Adrienne Roberts continued her good play on offense with 26 assists. Sophomore Carolina Robles added with 11 kills, and senior Bailie Parker contributed with 14 digs.

Berea Wins First Conference Game

In the second match of the day for Berea, the Mountaineers cruised past Agnes Scott College in straight sets 25-15, 25-19, and 25-13. The Mountaineers dominated the Scotties, leading in team kills (42-19) and in assists 37-16. The Mountaineers were led by freshman Adrienne Roberts with 32 assists, junior Carolina Robles with 13 kills and 17 digs, and Allana Knowles who had 12 kills and 6 digs.

The Mountaineers are now 2-4 in the season and will kick-off their home schedule with a match against Franklin College at home, September 10th. The game will start at 7:30.
