Ashley Harris comes to Berea College after five seasons at Tennessee Wesleyan University.  Ashley is the winningst volleyball coach in TWU history, and her team set over 40 program records in 2018, including most single season wins and longest wining streak. Her team also set program records for single season blocks, assists, kills, and aces.  The 2018 TWU team finished 4th in the nation among NAIA schools with 317 blocks.  During her time at Tennessee Wesleyan, she recruited and coached multiple players that received all conference recognition, as well as Avery Hilliard who was named all region in 2018, and Sundara Chinn who was the regional freshman of the year in 2016.

Harris was given one of the highest honors a volleyball coach can receive when she was named one of the "30 Under 30" coaches by the American Volleyball Coaches Association in 2017, a list recognizing the 30 best coaches under the age of 30.  She now serves on the committee that selects new recipients of the honor each year. 

Prior to TWU, Harris coached at Maryville College where she was an assistant coach from 2012-2014.  She helped lead Maryville to a USA South Athletic Conference Championship in 2013, and an appearance in the NCAA DIII national playoffs.  She also coached the elite level travel teams for K2 volleyball club in Knoxville, TN during this time as well.

Harris was born and raised in Abrams, WI, and played volleyball and softball at Cardinal Stritch University in Milwaukee, WI. In volleyball, she was a four-year starter and team captain her senior year when she led the team in blocks and was second in kills. She graduated from Stritch in 2008 with a major in sports management and a minor in communications.

Ashley is married to Ian Harris, who is her assistant coach and recruiting coordinator.  They have a daughter named Poppy Austinn, who was born in April 2016.  She is the daughter to Jerry and Kathy Sutrick, and sister to Hailey and Adam Sutrick.
