Women's XC performs well at Wilmington College

For the fifth time in five events this season, senior Mercy Kershner led the way for the women's cross country team today as they competed in the #JennaStrong Fall Classic hosted by Wilmington College in Wilmington, Ohio.

Kershner finished 79th out of 413 runners representing all collegiate levels from NCAA Division I to Junior Colleges. Her time of 20:08.90 was a little more than a minute and half off the event's medalist time.  Overall the event was won by NCAA Division II Ashland University.

Eron Gonterman finished 2nd for Berea with a 21:50.9, while "the Gabbys" (Gabriella Sabino and Gabrielle Sawyer, finished with a 22:20.55 and a 22:29.45 respectively.  Rounding out the finishers for Berea were Megan Hale - 24:02.34, Esther Omolola - 25:32.01, Sydney Kyker -26:45.19 and Julie Jent - 27:00.76.

The Mountaineers will be back in action next weekend as they really hit the road heading down to the beaches of South Carolina for the Sand Shark Invitational in Beaufort, SC.
