Rome, Ga.- The Mountaineers traveled to Berry College in Rome Georgia to compete in the Berry College Cross Country Invitational Saturday. Berea finished in fifth place out of 24 in their first 6k race of the season.
The Berea Mountaineers had a team score of 183 with sophomore Abby Schlenker finishing first on the team with a time of 23:51. Dove DeNigris finished for 31st place with a time of 24:18 with teammate Jamie Welch following close behind with a time of 24:32 finishing in 36th place. Freshman Mary Beth Mellhuish was the fourth Mountaineer to cross the line with a time of 25:09 finishing in 49th place. Hayley Clark was next to cross the line with a time of 26:10 and finishing in 79th.
Next up for the Berea Mountaineers, is the USA South Conference Championship meet in Maryville, Tennessee. The Conference meet will take place on Saturday, October 27th.
