Rome, Ga. - The Mountaineers traveled to Georgia over the weekend to compete in the NCAA South/Southeast Regional Championships at Berry College. Berea finished in 13th place out of 32 teams in the 6k race with a team average time of 25:29 to close out their 2018 season.
Berea was led by senior Dove DeNigris, who finished in 38th place with a time of 24:16. The second Mountaineer to finish was sophomore Abby Schlenker, finishing in 69th place in 25:06. Crossing the line third for Berea was freshman Mary Beth Mellhuish with a time of 25:29 in 85th place. Fourth for Berea was junior Hayley Clark in 113th place in 26:15 and the fifth Mountaineer to finish was junior Caitlyn Roberts in 115th place with a time of 26:19. To round out the top seven runners for Berea, Rachel Malstead ran to a time of 26:52 and Bethany Bigler with a time of 28:02.
