OBERLIN, OHIO.--
Over the weekend the Mountaineers travelled to Oberlin, Ohio to complete in the Oberlin College Inter-Regional Rumble. It was a cool day and a fast course helping the women to earn numerous personal records over the 6k distance. Berea finished with an average of 24:17 and a team total of 714 points to place 26th out of 32 teams.
Leading the Mountaineers was senior Rachael Melstead who finished 122nd in 23:42. Closely behind Melstead was sophomore Mary Beth Melhuish placing 144th in 24:03. The third Mountaineers across the line was senior Ivanna Sabino in 24:11 to place 153rd followed by senior Caitlyn Roberts in 24:31 (181st) and junior Tylan Eastham in 24:52 (201st). Other finishers for Berea include senior Jenna Hughes (25:03), senior Hayley Clark (25:16), sophomore Bethany Bigler (25:57), and senior Brittany Ortiz-Perez (28:05).
Next up for the Mountaineers is the USA South Conference Championships in Rocky Mount, North Carolina on November 2nd. Berea will look the win their third consecutive conference championship.
